Imagine you're getting ready to stand in front of an audience, only for something embarrassing to happen seconds before. Comedians probably have it a lot, except for them it's a lot easier when you can just laugh it off.
But when you're at a piano recital, it's usually a little bit more serious. One woman who was preparing for her big moment on stage was left red-faced after what happened right before her performance. Marianne shared a clip of the situation, which she described as 'embarrassing', in a now-viral video on TikTok which racked up a huge 329,000 likes and hundreds of comments.
The video begins with Marianne, who was wearing the red dress, walking up to her piano along with another pianist next to her as the pair prepared for their performance on stage.
- 'I went to seaside town frozen in time and was so relieved when I left'
- ‘We visited UK Christmas market and it's a load of overpriced tatt in garden sheds'
Above her clip, the words read 'embarrassing moment at competition' as she confidently took to stage with a round of applause from the audience before bowing and taking her seat.
But instead of her seat being adjusted to her height, Marianne was forced to tweak the bench for her comfort.
She started to fiddle with things and eventually managed to adjust the seat to be higher, which is clearly not what she wanted. Marianne keeps playing with the bench before the performer next to her gave her a little smile.
However, there's still a struggle and so her fellow pianist stepped in and helped solve the issue. Now she was ready to play the piano in front of the entire crowd.
Since she shared the clip, it garnered a lot of attention with many people claiming it wasn't as embarrassing as she thought.
One said: "Nothing embarrassing here. It is quite human, it can happen to anybody." Another added: "I would have fallen in love with that guy. No gentleman left in this world lol."
A third asked: "How is this embarrassing?" While a fourth chimed in: "The struggle for the perfect seat is real."
It is believed the woman was performing at the University of Toronto, Canada.
Marianne, who boasts over 1,500 followers, is a music video creator who shares performances on her platform. The violin was actually her first instrument, but she soon fell in love with the piano.
Now she's won a variety of awards, including first place in numerous regional and national competitions, and scooping first place twice at the Canadian Competition and first prize at the International Music Competition of France with her four-hand piano duo.
